今回は、５月下旬に行われた新歓イベントのご報告です。

Hello! I'm a exchange student from America and this was my first time participating in a TOPOS event on May 20th 2023. We were in a rental space and it was a nice little set up with tables for discussions both heavy topics as well as light icebreakers as well, tables for playing games and a table for learning more about the introduced topic for the event. I personally participated in the icebreakers table during the sessions when we broke into groups so i could get familiar with more people in TOPOS. Unlike other LGBT groups I've been to during my exchange, this group went in depth on LGBT topics. It was a little difficult grasping the presentation due to my limited understanding of Japanese and vocabulary but I belive it was regarding gender identity especially for transgender individuals. Being able to participate in a group like TOPOS I was able to connect with other students in the LGBT minority group and to my suprise too, there was quite a few other exchange students as well that I was able to meet which I was happy to connect with since University life in Tokyo is quite different from back home. I came out with some new friends and I am excited to participate in the next event in the future. Thanks for reading!
